<p>Percaya atau tidak, sikap kita adalah cermin masa lampau kita, pembicara kita di masa sekarang dan merupakan peramal bagi masa depan kita. Maksudnya apa ? Ya, bahwa kondisi masa lalu, sekarang dan masa depan kita dapat tercermin dari bagaimana sikap kita sehari-hari. Camkan satu hal, sikap kita merupakan sahabat yang paling setia, namun juga bisa menjadi musuh yang paling berbahaya.</p>
<p>Bagaimana sikap mental kita adalah sebuah pilihan; positif ataukah negatif.</p>
<p>W.W. Ziege pernah berkata.”Tak akan ada yang dapat menghentikan orang yang bermental positif untuk mencapai tujuannya. Sebaliknya, tak ada sesuatupun di dunia ini yang dapat membantu seorang yang sudah bermental negatif.</p>
<p>Jika kita seorang yang berpikiran positif, kita pasti mampu menghasilkan sesuatu. Kita akan lebih banyak berkreasi daripada bereaksi. Jelasnya, kita lebih berkonsentrasi untuk berjuang mencapai tujuan-tujuan yang positif daripada terus saja memikirkan hal-hal negatif yang mungkin saja terjadi dalam kehidupan kita sehari-hari.</p>
<p>Kehidupan dan kebahagiaan seseorang tidaklah bisa diukur dengan ukuran gelar kesarjanaan, kedudukan maupun latar belakang keluarga. Yang dilihat adalah bagaimana cara berpikir orang itu. Memang kesuksesan kita lebih banyak dipengaruhi oleh cara kita berpikir.</p>
<p>Ingat perkataan Robert J. Hasting, “Tempat dan keadaan tidak menjamin kebahagiaan. Kita sendirilah yang harus memutuskan apakah kita ingin bahagia atau tidak. Dan begitu kita mengambil keputusan, maka kebahagiaan itu akan datang”.</p>
<p>Dengan bersikap positif bukan berarti telah menjamin tercapainya suatu keberhasilan. Namun, bila sikap kita positif, setidak-tidaknya kita sudah berada di jalan menuju keberhasilan. Berhasil atau tidaknya kita nantinya ditentukan oleh apa yang kita lakukan di sepanjang jalan yang kita lalui tersebut.</p>
<p>Dari beberapa buku yang saya baca beberapa tips berikut terbukti cukup membantu. Cobalah untuk menjalankan kegiatan-kegiatan berikut ini sebanyak mungkin dalam hidup kita. Sebagaimana untuk mencapai hal-hal lainnya, untuk menjadi seorang yang berpikiran positif, prosesnya harus dilakukan secara terus-menerus :</p>
<p>1. Pilihlah sebuah kutipan yang bernada positif setiap minggunya dan tulislah kutipan tadi pada selembar kartu berukuran 3 x 5. bawalah kartu tadi setiap hari selama seminggu. Baca dan camkanlah kutipan tadi secara berkala dalam sehari dan jadikan afirmasi, misalnya di meja kerja Anda, di dashboard mobil, atau di cermin kamar mandi. Jadikanlah setiap kutipan tersebut bagian pemikiran Anda selama seminggu itu.</p>
<p>Contoh :<br />
“Seorang pemimpin yang baik adalah yang bisa membesarkan semangat dan harapan-harapan kepada anak buahnya.” (Napoleon Bonaparte). “Hari ini saya ingin menolong orang sebanyak mungkin” (Harry Bullis)</p>
<p>2. Pilihlah seseorang yang dalam hidup Anda yang Anda anggap berpikiran negatif. Cobalah cari hal-hal yang positif dalam diri orang itu dan ubahlah pikiran-pikiran negatif Anda mengenai orang tersebut dengan hal-hal positif tadi. Sebagai orang beragama, tolong doakan pula orang tersebut dengan hal-hal positif tadi dan mohonlah agar Tuhan menolongnya.</p>
<p>3. Pilih satu hari istimewa dalam seminggu dan jadikanlah hari itu sebagai “hari 10″. Bangunlah pada pagi hari dan yakinlah bahwa setiap orang yang akan Anda temui bernilai “10″, dan perlakukanlah mereka secara demikian. Anda pasti akan heran sendiri melihat tanggapan yang akan Anda peroleh dari orang-orang yang selama ini Anda anggap remeh.</p>
<p>4. Tandai suatu hari dalam seminggu sebagai “hari berpikiran positif.” Hapuslah kata-kata “tidak dapat,” “tidak pernah,” atau kata-kata lain yang senada, usahakan agar Anda menemukan cara untuk mengatakan apa yang bisa Anda lakukan.</p>
<p>5. Paling tidak sekali dalam seminggu, carilah suatu kesempatan untuk bisa memberi kepada orang lain dengan tulus. Lakukanlah suatu yang khusus pada suami/istri ataupun anak-anak Anda. Berbuatlah suatu kebaikan pada seseorang yang belum Anda kenal.</p>
<p>Siapa yang ingin sukses ?</p>
<p>Kuncinya jangan pernah sekali-kali berpikiran negatif !<br />
Buang jauh-jauh hal-hal negatif; juga kalimat-kalimat negatif dari pikiran Anda !</p>
<p>Jangan pernah ada lagi kalimat-kalimat seperti :</p>
<p>“Pasti gagal;<br />
Kami belum pernah melakukannya;<br />
Kami tak sanggup melakukannya;<br />
Saya belum siap melakukannya;<br />
Itu bukan tanggung jawab kami; dan sebagainya”.</p>
<p>Selamat mencoba, dan ………………………………………….<br />
SEMOGA sukses senantiasa bersama kita yang selalu berusaha maksimal<br />

Tasting wine is an art, but it’s not just for wine snobs. You too can learn why a great wine impresses from the first pour to the last drop. Engage your senses, and you’ll enjoy wine with more than just your taste buds.<br />
Sight</p>
<p>When examining a glass of wine, look for two things: clarity and colour. In a well-lit room, pick the glass up by the stem and hold it against a white background, such as a tablecloth. The wine should be clear, not hazy. The colour, which should be intense, is created from contact between the grape juice and skins during winemaking. Colour gives clues to the story of the wine, including the varietal, the winemaker’s methods, the age of the wine, and the region of origin.</p>
<p>When examining colour, note that white wines run the gamut from nearly colourless to light green, straw yellow, gold or even brown. Whites deepen with age, so a richer colour usually indicates an older wine. Sweet wines, like Muscat, which are deep yellow to begin with, are an exception. Reds, too, vary in hue from purple- or garnet-coloured to brick- or brownish-red. Red wine tends to lighten over time, losing its vibrant colour and turning a brick-brown shade. As their name suggests, blush wines, like Dry Rosé or White Zinfandel, are pink.<br />
Smell</p>
<p>Surprisingly, your nose is more important than your taste buds when it comes to experiencing wine. Our sense of taste lies heavily in our sense of smell, as the tongue can only recognize four tastes: bitter, sour, salty, and sweet. The nose however, is far more nuanced. Through smell, we’re able to recognize hundreds of unique substances, and different aromas can evoke a mood or bring a memory rushing back. Cigars don’t smell like cigars, they smell like your grandfather; cinnamon recalls your mother’s kitchen. And so it is with wine: From the first whiff, the aromas spark associations that create a memory of the wine. Everyone’s associations and descriptions will be different, but that’s part of the fun.</p>
<p>To start, swirl the wine in its glass. This drives oxygen into the wine, releasing the bouquet and aromas. The bouquet is defined as odors that come from decisions in the winemaking process (such as the vanilla scent associated with oak-barrel aging). Aromas are scents related to the unique varietal.</p>
<p>When smelling the wine, don’t be shy. Bring the glass right up to your nose and inhale deeply. Now, what’s the first thing you smell? You may detect leather, berries, dried fruit, cigars, or even the scent of freshly mowed grass. Record your impressions; they are helpful in communicating about wine and remembering which wines you like.</p>
<p>Since different people will describe the same wine differently, the Wine Aroma Wheel is an excellent tool that will give everyone a common vocabulary. Ann Noble, an enologist at the University of California at Davis, developed the wheel, which helps with accurate description and can aid newcomers in verbalizing what they smell. The wheel has three tiers, with the innermost stating general terms like floral, fruity, spicy, or herbaceous. The other two rings contain specifics to help you hone in on the aroma. Does that fruity wine have a citrus fragrance or perhaps tropical fruit? Is that pineapple you smell, or is it melon? Having precise descriptions at the ready will help everyone at a wine tasting relate to and understand each other.<br />
Taste</p>
<p>Now, for all the nose’s hard work, there are a few things, such as balance and texture that are best determined with the palate. Take a sip and hold the wine in your mouth. Let the liquid roll over the different parts of the tongue, picking up all the individual flavours. Note the texture, or “mouth-feel”. Is it thin? Buttery? Velvety? Balanced wines find harmony between the alcohol, tannin, acid, fruit, and sweetness – none should be a solo act. Alcohol shouldn’t overwhelm and acidity should lend a pleasant bit of tartness. Tannins should provide a slight astringency, or “pucker”, but not bitterness.</p>
<p>The last thing to note is the finish of the wine. Is there an aftertaste? What kind? How long does it last? A good wine should have a balanced finish, clean and crisp; one that lingers after you’ve swallowed.</p>

<p>Italian Spaghetti Carbonara</p>
<p>	1 C. pancetta, cut into julienne strips</p>
<p>4 egg yolks</p>
<p>1/2 C. heavy cream</p>
<p>Freshly ground black pepper</p>
<p>8 oz. spaghetti pasta</p>
<p>1 C. parmesan cheese, grated</p>
<p>In a large saute pan, cook pancetta over a medium flame to render the fat and crisp the pancetta. Set aside pan with pancetta.</p>
<p>Beat the egg yolks with the cream and black pepper.</p>
<p>In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the pasta and drain in a colander. Do not rinse the pasta, which will cause it to lose its flavor and starch.</p>
<p>Immediately add the pasta to the pancetta in the saute pan and pour in the cream mixture.</p>
<p>Stir over medium heat for one minute. Add the grated parmesan and toss to coat the pasta. Check for seasoning. Top with more parmesan if you desire.</p>
